Awakening Dreams / Contemplative art and poetry is a collection of contemplative art using oil pastels and contemplative poetry, for people interested in meditation and contemplation. Most of the paintings and poetry relate to experienced meditative and contemplative states. Try out a contemplative technique you may not have used before, and enjoy what ever experiences come your way.

Why Awakening Dreams you might ask? It is the title of one of the very first paintings I ever did. So it was an awakening of a dream of mine to be able to paint, hence the name. Click here if you would like to view it now.

Most of my oil pastel paintings are an expression of my feelings and experiences in contemplation. Click on the 'art galleries' link in the main menu above to browse through all my paintings.

You will find a brief note below the large image of each painting. This note describes 'where' the painting originated from, in terms of the feeling or experience I attempted to convey. You may find it helpfull to focus on that note in a contemplative sense, while absorbing the painting visually. 

Also if you like, you can open a second window, and play the HU song in the background, (right click the contemplation link in the main menu above, and select 'open in a new window'). It is very relaxing and uplifting. You can then open any of the paintings in the art galleries while listening to the Hu song. You can also view any painting Fullscreen, without the distraction of the menus by hitting the F11 key. The F11 key toggles fullscreen mode on and off.  

I am a self taught oil pastel artist, and have been painting since mid 1994. I follow no particular rules. I just do what 'feels' right in the moment of painting.
